Day 107 photo- The many faces of Kay

Since I’ve already posted myself at work, it made sense to me for my next photo of myself to be at work again, in my other job. I work at an animal hospital, the Audubon Wildlife Care Center. Here I am taking care of our resident American Kestrels.

  1. Looks truly rewarding! What’s the basis of the “two feet away” rule?

    • Everyone asks what that means!
The 2-foot rule is two-fold, actually. One is to respect the birds. People will often poke their fingers in the cage and/or stick their face up close which freaks the birds out. The second is for your own safety. These are not pets. They are wild animals and they will bite you or attack your poor little nose if it is within reach! You do NOT want to be slashed by a raptor’s foot, even one as little as these guys.
